Spring tree, plant sale underway

Order forms are now available for the Mower County Soil and Water Conservation District spring tree and shrub sale.

There are 24 varieties of trees and shrubs available as well as weed mats and tree shelters. Some available trees include oak, maple, lilac, pine and spruce. The trees and shrubs are transplants or seedlings that average 24 inches in height. These trees work for urban and rural conservation purposes — including windbreaks, erosion control, reforestation, and wildlife habitat. The Conservation District can assist in planning and may have cost-share plans with three-row windbreaks. Special-order trees and shrubs may also be available. Gift certificates are available, too.

Orders are taken off of a pre-ordered inventory and are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Order forms are available at the Mower SWCD office, 1408 21st Ave. NW., or on the web at mowerswcd.org.

Trees will be available for pick up in late April.
