Athletics hold off Schaeffer Academy
LYLE — The Lyle-Pacelli boys basketball team had to hold off a late run by Schaeffer Academy (0-2 overall, 0-1 SEC) to finish off a 56-51 win in Lyle Tuesday.
The Athletics (1-0 overall, 1-0 SEC) led by 19 with 4:30 to go in the game when Skylar Meyer, who scored 21 points, went to the bench with his fourth foul. The Lions took advantage as they got right back in the game.
“We were playing with just seven varsity guys tonight,” LP head coach Casey Anderson said. “A couple of less turnovers or missed shot by Schaeffer and the outcome could’ve been different, but we’ll take the win.”

LP 26 30 — 56
LP scoring: Skylar Meyer, 21; Jordan Hart, 12; Matt Kasel, 11; Braden Kocer, 5; Stephen Juenger, 5; Jake Nelson, 2
