The No. 8 seeded Lyle-Pacelli boys basketball team took care of business in a Section 1A West pig-tail game as it beat No. 9 LeRoy-Ostrander (2-22 overall) 70-41 in Pacelli Gym Tuesday.

Braden Kocer scored 19 points for the Atheletics (9-16 overall) and LP’s defense set the tone early on.

“We brought good defensive energy,” LP head coach Dean DeBoer said. “Holding them to eighteen in the first half was key.”

LP will now play at No. 1 seeded Goodhue Thursday at 7 p.m.

“You want to be playing your best at the end of the year and we’ve put together some of our best team games down the stretch,” DeBoer said. “No matter what happens in the next round, I think it’s a positive step going forward for our program.”

Zach Royston led the Cardinals with 14 points.
