First annual Jordan Ressler 5-mile run/walk held in BP

The first annual Jordan Ressler five-mile run/walk was held to raise money for the JR Foundation in Blooming Prairie Saturday.

The event drew 66 competitors.

In the men’s division, Daniel Hanson was first in the younger than 20 age group, Ian Campbell was first overall and first in the 20-29 age group, Brian Muellner was first in the 30-39 age group, Jeremy Doerhoefer was first in the 40-49 age group, and Larry Farrow was first in the 50 and older age group.

In the women’s division, Cortney Easton was first in the younger than 20 age group, Taylor Sette was first in the 20-29 age group, Shannon Prostrollo was first in the 30-39 age group, Kim Gauthier was first overall and first in the 40-49 age group, and Sheryl Mans was first in the older than 50 age group.

According to its Web Site, the JR Foundation was established in 2011 to honor the life of Jordan Ressler, son of Mike and Melissa Ressler, who died at the age of 16 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

The JR Foundation’s mission is to support, aid and promote youth, athletic, and educational programs in and around the surrounding community of Blooming Prairie, Minn., as well as provide charity, support, aid and outreach to parents who have experienced a tragic loss of a child due to a motor vehicle accident or brain injury.
