Cub Scouts holding membership push

School is back in session and so are many Cub Scout packs across South Central Minnesota.

During September and October, Cub Scout packs will hold Join Scouting events, inviting youth from kindergarten through fifth grade to visit local elementary schools and learn more about Scouting.

Parents are encouraged to go to a school nearest to them and sign their child up for Scouts. This year’s join Scouting theme is Build an Adventure. All Cub Scouts that join will receive a free pinewood derby car complements of 3M.

Parents should watch for a Cub Scout flyer in their child’s take home folder from school. The flyer will provide specific information about Cub Scout pack activities in their area. Parents can also visit www.BeaScout.org or call 507-387-3123 to find the nearest Cub Scout pack. New for 2016, a Lion Cubs program is being introduced for Kindergarteners: scoutingwire.org/lion
