Hormel Foods’s corporate office came through in a big way for the United Way of Mower County.

Hormel Foods Corporate Office workers raised $238,861 this year for the United Way’s annual campaign drive, another record-setting endeavor by workers who raised $230,869 last year.

This is the third and final large donation expected in this campaign season. United Way previously received record-setting donations from Quality Pork Processors workers and Hormel Foods plant employees. QPP workers raised $163,000 this year, up from $157,000 last year. Hormel plant workers donated $141,000 this year, another record set by plant workers.

Last year UWMC workers raised a little more than $1 million. UWMC workers will announce this year’s final campaign total at the annual United Way meeting in April.

In 2011 UWMC funded 49 programs and services throughout Mower County for local residents.
