One person died Wednesday morning after a vehicle went off of Interstate 35, through a fence and into a field four miles north of the Iowa border.

The vehicle, which came to a stop facing north, was found west of the southbound I-35 lanes.

It is unclear which direction it was driving at the time of the crash, and it was reported to authorities at 10:30 a.m.

Freeborn County Sheriff Bob Kindler said the cause of the crash was related to a medical condition.

No information has been released by the Minnesota State Patrol, and a trooper asked a Tribune reporter and photographer to leave the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. A report likely will be available in at most 10 days.

Look to for more information as it becomes available.
