2 injured in crash Sunday

4 involved in accident near Rose Creek

Two of three people sustained minor injuries near Rose Creek Sunday when the driver swerved to avoid another vehicle and hit a drainage ditch, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Monica Prihoda of Blooming Prairie and Bernard Lammers of Rose Creek, passengers, reportedly went to the hospital in Austin for undisclosed injuries. However, the driver of their vehicle, James Prihoda of Blooming Prairie, was apparently not injured.

State patrol officials say the driver of the second vehicle, Tasha Engesser of Rose Creek, crossed the centerline in a van while traveling northbound on Highway 56 east of Rose Creek at 2:30 p.m. Her vehicle sustained no damage, and she was not injured. James Prihoda, driving a southbound SUV, took the ditch to avoid hitting the van, the report adds.

The SUV was not towed, as it was still driveable after the crash. The state patrol didn’t detect alcohol in anyone in the crash, and the report is complete.
