Woman injured after buggy crash
A Glenville woman was injured Monday afternoon after being flung off a wooden, horse-drawn buggy southeast of Glenville.
Mary Schreiber, 57, was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Freeborn County Patrol Sgt. Tim Bennett.
She was reportedly riding with Susan Locking, 52, of Farmington, at about 12:40 p.m. on 840th Avenue south of 130th Street when the two horses reportedly passed a combine cutting hay, got spooked and went into the ditch. The wagon subsequently went into the ditch, the horses broke off and the women were flung off the wagon.
Locking was uninjured.
Bennett said the black Friesian horses were found about two miles west of the scene on 820th Avenue.
