Herald sets pageview record

The Austin Daily Herald website shattered an all-time record last month.

The Herald’s site reached 908,247 pageviews in January, a 10.5 percent increase over the previous high. January also marked the first time more than 70,000 unique visitors in a month.

The site averaged 6,011 unique visitors and 34,880 pageviews per weekday.

Some of the most popular stories of the month include “Family reflects on millionaire’s fame” about Austin author Amanda Hocking, “Grumpy’s closes to surprise of staff,” “Lyle Superintendent Jim Dusso resigns,” “Couple ordered to halt motocross track operation,” “Stiehm, Clennon spar at council retreat,” and “I never lost hope” about a driver surviving after being stuck in his car for 6 1/2 hours.
