Kruger leads Hayfield football team past W-K

The Hayfield football team beat Wabasha-Kellogg (3-5 overall, 3-5 SFA Blue) 26-15 in Hayfield Wednesday.

The Vikings (4-4 overall, 4-4 SFA Blue) tallied a season-high 254 rushing yards and it is the first .500 season for Hayfield in at least a decade.

“It was a big step for us this year and we’ve had a lot of guys put in hard work to turn things around,” Hayfield head coach Andrew Weiers said.

Hayfield’s defense shutout W-K for three quarters until the reserves came into the game into the fourth quarter.

Cole Kruger racked up 195 yards of offense and two TDs for the Vikings.
