Hail predicted overnight in Austin, tornadoes possible
It could get dicey tonight.
National Weather Service meteorologists forecast severe weather starting Monday afternoon and continuing overnight.
The weather is due in part to a low pressure system drifting north from Kansas and moving through the area today and tomorrow, according to Zack Taylor, NWS meteorologist. Combined with a warm front, the weather system is set to bring in severe thunderstorms.
The worst of the storms will take place overnight, according to forecasts. Hail could be possible in the late night storms. Tuesday could be worse, as there’s a chance of possible isolated tornadoes, Taylor said.
Severe weather should be done by Tuesday night as cooler weather moves into the area.
