The Historic Paramount Theatre will be bustling with activity this summer.

Once again we are partnering with Rochester’s Riverside Concerts to bring artists from their World Music Series to Austin. Each concert will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. This is free a show.

The series begins on on Wednesday, June 5 with Greg Herriges and Telluric Currents. Greg is a guitarist, bouzoukist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer.

He creates an eclectic mix of original and traditional world music that is influenced by his studies of South and East Asian styles.

Wednesday, July 10 brings Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Italy’s leading and longest-standing traditional music ensemble.

The series ends on Wednesday, Aug. 28 with Pacific Curls.

Composed of three talented women, their music is hard to classify. They use jazz chordal transitions, traditional Celtic tunes, expressive vocals in both Maori and English, and world instruments with Pacific style beats.

Beyond the World Music Series, we will host several other talented musicians at the Paramount Theatre. Minnesota bands Bella Ruse and Bethany Larson and the Bees Knees will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
