Meth dealer pleads guilty

A 20-year-old Austin man who sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant pleaded guilty to one criminal charge Thursday.

Luis Adrian Gonzalez pleaded guilty to third-degree narcotic sales in exchange for two second-degree drug sales charges being dismissed.

According to court documents, Gonzalez was arrested in March of 2010 after a confidential informant purchased at least 3.9 grams of meth from him on two different occasions.

When officers searched his home, in the 900 block of 10th Avenue SW, they found marijuana and a marijuana pipe in his bedroom.

Police Capt. Dave McKichan followed the informant when he purchased the meth from Gonzalez, and an officer with the Southeast Minnesota Drug Task Force also followed and photographed Gonzalez.

Gonzalez is scheduled to be sentenced on March 16.
