Gay marriage not comparable to slavery

In response to the Sept. 21 letter to the editor titled “Rethink Marriage Amendment,” I submit that the “Slavery” issue and ‘same sex marriage’ are not even an apple to apples comparison. For a better understanding of the homosexual condition, go to Narth.com and Ex-gaytruth.com.

Consider that in 1973, the American Psychiatric Association took homosexuality off the official list (DSM-II) of psychiatric disorders because of pressure tactics. This can be verified in Chapter 4, of Dr. Ronald Bayer’s, (a pro-homosexual psychiatrist) book, “Homosexuality and American Psychiatry: The Politics of Diagnosis.” (1981)

He said the first attack by activists against the APA began in 1970 at its convention in San Francisco. At that time activists decided to disrupt the conference by interrupting speakers and shouting down and ridiculing psychiatrists who viewed homosexuality as a mental disorder.

In 1971, homosexual activist Frank Kameny worked with the “Gay Liberation Front” to demonstrate against the APA’s convention. At the 1971 conference, Kameny grabbed the microphone and yelled, “Psychiatry is the enemy incarnate. Psychiatry has waged a relentless war of extermination against us. You may take this as a declaration of war against you.”

Meanwhile, homosexuals forged APA credentials and gained access to exhibit areas in the conference. There they threatened anyone who claimed that homosexuals needed to be cured. After much political pressure, a committee of the APA met behind closed doors in 1973 and voted to remove homosexuality as a mental disorder from the DSM-II. Opponents of this effort were given 15 minutes to protest this change. (Compare that with the amount of years it is taking to get DSM-5 approved).

In 1987, Kirk & Madsen produced the “six steps” in “Overhauling of Straight America” and its 1989 follow up, “After the Ball” — essentially the “bible” of the homosexual movement. Page 153 says: “We mean conversion of the average American’s emotions, mind, and will, through a planned psychological attack, in the form of propaganda fed to the nation via the media.” Among other things, the six steps deal with neutralizing “Joe Sixpack” and demonizing the religious right using the “bracket technique.” In other words, the movement is not based on intellectual argument; only emotional manipulation of the public.
