City-Wide Garage Sales promise bargains this weekend

The 10th annual official City-Wide Garage Sales start Friday and go through Sunday.

Garage sale enthusiasts should have no trouble finding exactly what they’re looking for this weekend.

With about 55 sales, the 10th annual official City-Wide Garage Sales will start Friday, with some going through Sunday.

“We have dozens and dozens of sales planned,” said Austin Convention and Visitors’ Bureau executive director Cheryl Corey. “There are many, many great bargains out there. … It’s a fantastic opportunity to reduce, reuse and recycle.”

Items include clothes for all ages, baby gear, toys and games, furniture, appliances, tools, household items, kitchen supplies, TVs and electronics, home décor, sports gear and anything else enthusiasts would expect to find at a garage sale.

“Something someone doesn’t need might be exactly what someone else is looking for,” Corey said.

Find an interactive map with details on every sale online. The Herald will also publish every sale and a detailed map Thursday and Friday in its print edition.

As of Wednesday morning, Friday is supposed to be mostly sunny with a high of 73 degrees, but Saturday brings a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms.
