Rotary of Austin’s 36th annual chicken and corn feed will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at St. Edward’s Corcoran in Austin.

And there should be plenty to go around with 3,000 pieces of chicken and unlimited sweet corn for all. Yet when the chicken is gone, it’s gone, said Hy-Vee Manager Todd Hepler.

Hy-Vee is among several businesses support for Rotary of Austin’s only fundraiser of the year. Honey Tree Farms will provide the sweet corn, Apollo and Hy-Vee will cook chicken and Superfresh will provide cookies. There will also be coleslaw, potato salad and ice cream. Tickets are $8 for adults at the door, $6 for kids 3 to 10, or can be bought for a dollar cheaper at area retailers.

The fundraiser will support Rotary’s scholarship and education programs locally.

“Being Rotarians, we try to use as many businesses as possible,” Hepler said about supporting Rotary.

Though some may not have time to attend the event as it is on a Tuesday, Rotary is also offering carry-outs.
