Leichtnam and Bungum named All-MCAC

A pair of area grads who are playing football at Rochester Community and Technical College were recently named to the all MCAC football team.

Grand Meadow grad Caleb Liechtnam was named All-Division first team and Hayfield grad Evan Bungum was named All-Division second team.

Leichtnam, who set an NJCAA record for interceptions his freshman year, finished this past season with 50 tackles, three tackles for a loss, six interceptions, three passes defensed, one fumble recovery and one touchdown. Leichtnam had 199 yards return yards as a defender and 357 total kick and punt return yards.

Bungum, who was in his first year with the Yellowjackets, finished the season with 26 catches for 544 yards and five touchdowns.

RCTC (9-2 overall) had its season end in a 33-23 loss to Central Lakes in the state title game.
