216 stopped during seatbelt enforcement
A seatbelt enforcement wave held from May 21 to June 3 resulted in more than 91 seat belt tickets in Austin.
According to Police Capt. Dave McKichan, that’s 30 more tickets than October’s, and the final tallies aren’t in yet. McKichan added 14 of those citations also accompanied speeding tickets and 16 driving after revocation tickets.
Austin police made 216 total stops during that time.
