A local mission group did more for Haiti even after it recently left the island country.
A group of 13 returned from Haiti but is continuing its efforts through the Apparent Project, in which they use ordinary household or recycled items to make jewelry and raise money for Jesus in Haiti Ministries. One hundred percent of the proceeds go toward the mission project.
Eight participants from Austin, one from St. Ansgar, Iowa, and one from Becker, Minn., returned from Haiti and kept pushing for funds with the jewelry sale at Gymocha last Saturday.
