LeRoy man denies drug, theft charges

A LeRoy man suspected of stealing tools, burial vaults and growing marijuana pleaded not guilty Thursday in Mower County Court.

Steven John Holm, 29, pleaded not guilty to felony charges for fifth-degree drug sale, fifth-degree drug possession and possession of stolen property.

Officers searched his home on the 500 block of North Broadway in LeRoy on Jan. 16 and found items that tested positive for methamphetamine, more than 100 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, grow lights, potting soil and plastic cups filled with potting soil, according to the court complaint. Furthermore, officers found $1,000 in tools that had allegedly been stolen from a construction site and two $600 burial vaults stolen from a LeRoy funeral home.

Holm demanded a speedy trial, and no further date has been set.
