Police arrest 3, find 90 grams of marijuana

Austin police arrested three Albert Lea residents early Saturday after finding 90 grams of marijuana and various drug paraphernalia in their car.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said officers stopped a 2005 Chevy Impala at about 1:53 a.m. Saturday near Fourth Avenue and 16th Street Southeast. A 19-year-old Albert Lea man, a 16-year-old male teenager and a 26-year-old Albert Lea man were taken into custody after police found pot in the car, according to a police report.

Krueger said the 19-year-old driver was also charged with driving after revocation, and police seized and had his car forfeited. The 26-year-old man forfeited about $480 in cash and the 16-year-old forfeited $359 in cash, as well.

Both adults were taken to Mower County jail pending formal charges, while the 16-year-old was released to his father.
