One of Lyle Area Cancer’s biggest events of the summer will hit the stage this weekend.

The annual Delmar Ramaker Memorial Concert for a Cure will take place from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Mower County Fairgrounds.

The event was started by Jeff and Georgia Ramaker in honor of Jeff’s brother, who died of colon cancer in 1998. Since then, they have organized a charity for the LAC since moving to Lyle more than 10 years ago.

“It’s very fulfilling,” said Georgia. “It’s quite a tribute to his brother.”

This year’s music includes Milwaukee Road, Adam Wollenburg, Six Mile Grove with Bob Wooten and Leland Martin. There will be a raffle, lunch wagon and a beer garden as well.

Tickets are $25.
