Public Safety releases names of murder victim, suspect

The Southern Minnesota Regional Coroner’s Office officially released the names Saturday evening of the man who was murdered early Friday morning outside his Austin home.

Dennis Burton Seberson, 86, resided at 510 Fourth St. NW. The Coroner’s Office report said he died of homicide as a result of blunt force trauma.

In addition, the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office on Saturday identified the suspect in the alleged murder as Craig Brian Seberson, 46, of Meservey, Iowa. Initial police reports had stated he was from the St. Paul suburb of Oakdale.

The Medical Examiner’s Office report states Craig Seberson died when his vehicle crashed south of Waseca following a lengthy run from law enforcement. The preliminary autopsy found Craig Seberson died of head injuries and probable mechanical asphyxia associated with the crash.
