Cowboys jam at LeRoy church

Anybody who wants to attend an evening church service Friday, March 11, can certainly do so. But they should know, it’s no ordinary service.

Beginning 7 p.m. at the Creative Arts Center in LeRoy, cowboys take hold of the congregation. It’s part of the Cowboy Church Musicians musical jam. The Musicians of the Cherry Grove Cowboy Church will perform anything from folk, bluegrass, gospel and country for those who want a more laid-back experience.

Local musicians, the LeRoy Road Band, Gaye Stockdale, Arlen Sloan, Marvin Lego, Barb Mosher, Janine Sherry and the Jones Boys will all perform. Mark Rader is the host and MC for the evening. Admission is $5 and one canned item for the local food shelf.

The Cherry Grove Cowboy Church is sponsored by the United Methodist Churches in Cherry Grove, Fountain and Spring Valley. The church holds a service the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. Cherry Grove Cowboy Church can be reached at 507-346-2830.
