Neighboring businesses report burglaries Monday morning

Two neighboring Austin businesses both opened to a sore sight on Monday morning.

The Austin Police Department received a call at about 10:30 a.m. Monday that both the El Patron and China Star restaurants in northwest Austin had been burglarized. According to the police report, the alleged burglars used a tool to pry open the back doors of each business sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Both businesses were missing an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger. There are no suspects.
