Chefs to face off, provide free samples at Taste of Mower

Mower County chefs, start your ovens.

The Arc of Mower County is set for its second annual major fundraiser, Taste of Mower County — with chef cook-offs, door prizes, live and silent auctions and unlimited tastings. The event is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn grand ballroom in Austin.

Chefs from around the county will prepare signature dishes, such as stuffed walleye, prime rib, and attendees will get to sample it all. Live auction items include a two-night stay in a log cabin in Rose Creek for 12, Chanhassen dinner tickets, a wine tasting event for four, and an overnight stay in a water park in Owatonna, Minn.

Money raised supports The Arc of Mower County and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Tickets are $25 for individuals and $40 for couples.
