Help others this holiday season

It’s an easy thing to do. You’re walking along, jiggling some change in your pocket as you are walking into a business to do some shopping. As you enter, you see someone ringing a bell beside a kettle.

During this time of year, attention turns to the holidays: finding the perfect tree, finding the perfect gift, making the perfect meal, but a lot of people don’t have the luxury of any of the that.

While we merrily go about our celebrations, it’s easy to forget there are people suffering or having to go without.

Places like the Salvation Army are trying to make the holidays a little easier for those people in need, but their funds are limited so they rely on the generosity of the public to help make their ends meet; so they can help those who may be struggling from day to day have just a little joy this holiday season.

It may seem cliche, but it’s absolutely true. Every little bit helps. Every quarter, nickel or penny you donate will help some family in need have a successful holiday season.

So the next time you’re walking by one of those bellringers, help match their jingle with some jingle of your own by donating what you can to local charity.
