The Austin Sears is on the move.
Sears owner Cory Squier and other employees are transporting all of the retailer’s inventory from its old location inside Oak Park Mall to the former home of Ruskell Hardware, which has an exterior entrance just west of the mall’s main doors. Squier announced the move in November 2011, and they began remodeling their new spot soon after. Both locations have been open since Monday, and they hope to finish the move by the first part of next week.
The Ruskell location is about 16,000-square feet, which is about 9,000 more than Sears, and the new store will feature an expanded assortment of almost everything, especially mattresses, Squier said in November.
Hours will stay the same: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
