Oak Park Mall adds wedding rental shop

Oak Park Mall has been racking up new businesses the past six months, and it’s about to add another.

Suzann Herr announced she will open Artistry Weddings and Events — which rents and sells table linens and other decorations for weddings, graduation parties, anniversaries and celebrations. Herr, an Austin resident, will be the sole employee of the rental shop opening Monday, April 2 next to Spirit Bear Academy and across from the CineMagic7 movie theater.

“I’m thrilled to be [in the mall],” Herr said. “I think the mall is growing and it’ll be a great place to be when it gets full again.”

Napoli Chocolates will also open Monday, bringing the storefront total to 21. JNK Fried Chicken is also scheduled to open in April, and Sears just finished a move to an exterior storefront which doubled its size. The Kitchen Warehouse, Spirit Bear Academy, Ole Barn BBQ and the Machine Shed have all also opened since September 2011. During that same time, only Family Dollar has closed.

Herr said she chose the mall because rent was so reasonable.

Artistry Weddings and Events rents linens such as runners, overlays, table cloths and sashes, along with LED-lighted chandeliers, curtains, vases, branches and columns. Herr said she also handles invitations.

The business will be open three or four days per week, Herr said, and the other days she will be available for private consultations by appointment.
