City sets site for branch dumping
The city of Austin has opened a branch collection site at the Mower County Fairgrounds for residents to drop off trees and branches downed by last week’s snowstorm.
The fairgrounds site will be open from dawn to dusk Tuesday, May 7, though Sunday, May 13. Residents should enter the fairgrounds from the Fourth Avenue Southwest entrance and exit onto 12th Street Southwest. City officials say only trees and branches will be accepted, not mulch or lawn clippings.
