Austin School Board to approve make-up day

The Austin Public Schools board is set to change next Wednesday, March 12, from a half day to a full day of school.

The board will formally approve the calendar change during its school board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 10.

Austin has had five snow days thus far this school year.

Though the district isn’t in danger of running under state-mandated class time, the district schedules three snow days in teachers’ contracts.

Board members will also approve the district’s integration plan and budget for the 2014-2015 school year.
