Packer relays score a pair of fifth-place finishes at state meet
The Austin Packers rounded out their season in fine form Saturday with a pair of fifth place finishes in the 200 and 400 relays while Nick Brehmer took eighth in the 200 yard freestyle at the Minnesota State Swimming and Diving Meet at the University of Minnesota’s Aquatics Center.
The foursome of Craig Heimark, Ian Christopherson, Carson Hackel and Brehmer set the school record they broke just the day before in the preliminaries with a time of 1:29.36 in the 200 yard freestyle relay.
The same group notched a time of 3:17.05 in the 400 yard freestyle as well.
Brehmer finished eighth in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.49. He would later earn a 15th place state finish with a time of 49.05 in the 100 yard freestyle.
The team of Sawyer Myers, Alex Laury, Seth Clasen and Carson Hackel finished 14th overall in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.40.
Christopherson was 15th overall in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.51.
