Suspected heroin dealer allegedly trashes home, assaults woman

One of seven people arrested as part of a heroin distribution sting was charged last week for allegedly breaking into a home, pouring bleach everywhere and beating another woman.

Tempest Haymore, 27, of Austin, faces two charges of first-degree burglary, one charge of criminal damage to property totaling more than $1,000 in damage, and fifth-degree assault.

An accomplice, Shante Denise Morgan, 24, of Austin, faces similar charges.

According to a court complaint, Haymore allegedly broke into a home at the 800 block of 12th Avenue Southwest on Aug. 8 after she found her boyfriend there. The victim, who was in the shower at the time, later told police she came out of the bathroom to discover Haymore had allegedly smashed a mirror and a TV.

Haymore left with her boyfriend around 4:30 p.m. but returned about 10 minutes later with Morgan. Another victim told police Haymore allegedly forced her way around her to get inside the home with a bottle of bleach. The second victim reported Haymore poured bleach all over the walls, floor, on furniture and clothes, and more.

Haymore then allegedly got a bottle of antifreeze and poured it inside the first victim’s car.

The second victim yelled for Haymore to stop but was allegedly punched in the face by Morgan. Haymore and Morgan then allegedly knocked the second victim to the ground before they hit and kicked her, according to the complaint.

Haymore faces two counts of third-degree drug sale after she was arrested on May 13 as part of a three-month joint investigation between area law enforcement into heroin sales in the community. Her next court appearance will take place later this
