A couple of days and more than $250,000 later, Applebee’s has a new look.
The Austin location closed Sunday night for a redesign of its dining area and was opened once more at 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to general manager Bryan Otte.
The restaurant updated the awnings and signs on the outside, along with new carpets, new booths, a brand new bar, new wall designs featuring photos by Austin Daily Herald photographer Eric Johnson and more. All told, the Applebee’s corporate office spent more than $250,000 on the construction project.
“It’s pretty exciting to see this store get updated like it is,” Otte said.
