Customer booted from store, arrested

A second trip to the liquor store ended in arrest for one local on Monday.

According to the police report, employees at Apollo Liquor on West Oakland Avenue in Austin called police at 7:54 p.m. as a man who appeared intoxicated and who was in the store earlier would not leave. While people were able to remove the alleged unruly customer from the store, police arrived and later arrested John Aboda, 30, walking toward Galloway Park.

According to the police report, Aboda was aggressive toward people at Apollo and displayed unusual behavior. Bystanders say he was obnoxious and swore at them.

A preliminary breath test showed Aboda was intoxicated, the report adds. Aboda was arrested and placed in the Mower County jail. He may be charged with two counts of fifth-degree domestic assault.
