Alzheimer’s workers to talk on association, research center

Two Alzheimer’s experts will come together in Austin late this month to discuss the purpose of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.

The talk will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 in The Cedars of Austin community room. Kristin Sjolie and Charlene Martin-Lillie will teach attendees about the variety of support and services individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their families and friends can find at the two organizations.

Sjolie began as a southern Minnesota program manager for the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota-North Dakota in January. Before that, she worked as the caregiver educator for Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca. Martin-Lillie has been with Mayo Clinic since 1998 and started with the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center in 2008. She is an education coordinator and co-facilitates support groups and a memory club in addition to dementia day seminars.

No RSVP is required. Contact Cathy Ehley at 507-355-7112 with questions.
