Torge’s tap will go dry next week

Anyone looking to grab a drink between March 27 and March 29 will find a dry well at Torge’s Live.

Because of a failed compliance check Feb. 4, Torge’s has been suspended from selling alcohol for three business days.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said alcohol sales will cease when Torge’s opens on Sunday, March 27. Alcohol sales will begin again at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 30.

This marks the bar’s second violation in the last two years. During the three day suspension, alcohol will be prohibited in the bar and throughout the entire restaurant, including at banquets. However, food can still be served and banquets can still be held during that time.

City Council members voted to approve the violation and consequences on March 7.
