Bruins forward AJ Reid honored by NAHL

Bruins forward AJ Reid, a 19-year old Army recruit, was named one of three of the NAHL’s Stars of the Week presented by Combat Hockey.

Reid was instrumental in helping Austin win two of three games over the weekend, which included a weekend sweep of the Bismarck Bobcats. On Friday, the Lakeville, Minn. native recorded the game-winning goal and added three assists in the Bruins’ 5-3 win over the Bobcats. The next night, Reid scored the game-tying goal in the second period, as the Bruins completed the sweep of the Bobcats with a 5-2 win. On Sunday, Reid increased his point streak to three games with an assist in a 5-3 loss against the Alexandria Blizzard.

For the weekend, Reid had six points (2 goals, 4 assists) as Austin posted a 2-1-0 record. Since coming to Austin back in early January, Reid has put up 27 points in 24 games played.

“AJ has been a great addition to our offense and understands how to score big goals,” said Bruins assistant coach Kasey Yoder. “He plays in all situations and plays well at both ends of the ice.”
