Two Ellis Middle School students face consequences after one of them was found with an airsoft gun in their backpack Friday morning.

Someone reported a possible safety concern on a school bus heading for Ellis Friday morning, according to Ellis Principal Katie Berglund.

Berglund said school officials immediately secured the bus and made sure there wasn’t any threat. The two students were taken off the bus. No one was in any immediate danger, according to Berglund.

“We’re always concerned about student safety,” Berglund said. “In this situation, while in the end, we discovered that no one was in any immediate danger, we will always respond to ensure student safety.”

Berglund said she had met with the students and their parents by Friday afternoon.
