Adams will kick off the small town festival season by hosting Dairy Days Friday through Sunday.

This annual event has been held since the 1970s and draws an annual visitation of 1,500 to 2,000 people.

“It’s a great way to start your summer,” said Gail Anderson of the Adams Booster Club, who puts on the annual event.

Although this year’s event will not be as large as previous years, there is still plenty to do. There will be games in Adams City Park and numerous events, such as a car show and performance by the Forty Milers at the Adams American Legion. A two-day long rummage sale will be held on Friday and Saturday as well as the ever popular Sunday parade.

And, as always, the Dairy Days Prince and Princess will be coronated on Sunday.

The 2017 Adams Dairy Days Grand marshals are Corky and Judy Krebsbach.

“It’s just fun,” Anderson said.

Friday, June 9

•Citywide rummage sale — all day

•20 miles of garage sales along the Shooting Star Byway Leroy-Taopi-Adams-Rose Creek and places between (continues into Saturday)

•Dodge ball tournament — starting at 4 p.m. at Southland High School

•Co-ed entering grade 4-6 — 4 p.m.

•Boys entering grade 7-9 — 5 p.m.

•Girls entering grade 7-adult — 7p.m.

•Boys entering grade 10-adult — 8 p.m.

•Outdoor movie: “Moana” starting at 9 p.m. at the car wash lot (or in the Adams American Legion in the event of inclement weather). Refreshments served by Lucky Clovers 4-H.
