The Historic Paramount Theatre will get countrified this weekend when the Austin Area Commission for the Arts presents Austin native Adam Wayne Wollenburg in “A Great Plains County Show” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Adam’s interest in writing and performing exhibited itself from an early age due in part from growing up in a musical family; his father and brother play guitar, mother plays piano and sister plays bass.

Although he has other interests including racing cars, duck hunting and fishing, Adam eventually left Austin and moved to Nashville to pursue his music. While there, he performed at the world famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge in Nashville where he rubbed elbows with Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson and Kid Rock.

While in Nashville, Adam also met independent producer Eric Zanetis, who supported Wollenburg’s move back to Minnesota to write songs. This move resulted in Adam’s debut album “Good Pennies Keep Coming Back,” which was written with long-time co-writer and fellow Minnesotan Tony Dooley.

Adam has been interviewed by PBS and is having great success with his debut single “Good Pennies,” which is being played on least 166 radio stations.
