ABERDEEN — A quick Austin first-period lead was able to stand up against a fierce Aberdeen comeback Saturday night as the Bruins closed a two-game sweep of the Wings Saturday night, 4-3.

The Bruins (21-5-4) jumped to a 3-1 lead in the first period behind goals from CJ Smith and Grant Eichstadt just under two minutes apart.

AJ Reid gave Austin a 3-0 towards the end of the period before Aberdeen’s Justin Parizek finally put the Wings on the board with just under a minute to play.

Chris Fischer scored Austin’s fourth goal of the night in the second just after Aberdeen’s Steven Johnson cut the lead to one. The Wings’ Colton Kramer cut the lead again to one at 4-3, but it wasn’t enough as the teams closed out the third period, scoreless.

Jason Pawloski got the win in net for the Bruins with 45 saves while the Bruins put 42 shots on the Aberdeen (8-19-2) net.
