Craft show coming to Corcoran Center
After two years in the Twin Cities, Austin business owners Kristy Rooney and Anna Otto are bringing A Handmade Christmas Indie Craft Market to the Corcoran Center, 2000 Oakland Ave. W., next Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13 and 14.
The event will offer handmade gifts selected by a jury. More than 30 vendors will exhibit including Zarooka Crafting Co, Ruffle Couture, Bound to Be Creative, Beckamade, Katie Stromlund Acrylics and Amy Jo’s Handmade.
The market opens from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, when shoppers can purchase a night out booklet of tickets for wine and chocolate pairings, a chair massage and vendor coupons. Only 250 booklets are available online at www.ahandmadechristmas.com at $5 each.
The market continues from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday with the parish of St. Edward’s serving hot sandwiches and soup and a bake sale with Christmas cookies by the dozen.
Rooney and Otto have participated in the Austin Area Business Forum, a program of the Development Corporation of Austin with the Vision 2020 Business Friendly Environment Committee. A Handmade Christmas Indie Craft Market will offer a venue for small business entrepreneurs to reach new customers and provide additional shopping options for Austin residents.
