Austin woman gets 15 months for drug crime
An Austin woman who was sentenced to six months in jail this summer will now spend 15 months in prison for a drug crime.
Elsa Linda Cabana, 28, was sentenced Friday to the 15 months in prison as a result of a controlled substance crime. Three charges were dismissed, including driving under the influence of drugs, when she pleaded guilty to drug possession.
Cabana was sentenced in July to six months in jail for violating her probation on a previous fifth-degree drug possession conviction. Her 15-month prison sentence will also serve as a sentence for convictions of assaulting a police officer and terroristic threats.
Cabana was convicted of terroristic threats after a woman said Cabana had threatened her with a knife. Police found Cabana outside of Jim’s Supervalu with the knife in her hand, according to court documents.
She will receive credit for 20 days already served in jail.
