The Meadow Greens–Ramsey Ladies Golf Club played a round of “Red, White and Blue” on Wednesday to celebrate the Fourth of July. Prior to play, members of each team chose which of the three colors they would do the scoring for.
Small ribbons of red, white or blue were randomly tied to the bottom of the flag sticks so that players would not know ahead of time whose hole it was. Once the hole was completed, the player with the designated color subtracted their handicap from their score for the adjusted team score.
Winners on the front nine with an adjusted score of 34 were Janice Perrigo, Carmel Taylor and Jan Thissen. The winning team on the back nine with a score of 35 was Joy Blaser, Pat Busker and Barb James.
A chip-in was made by Barb James on hole No. 4. Actual birdies were made by Karen Baier on holes No. 6 and No. 8, Patty Shatek on hole No. 7, and Chris Swatfager on hole No. 7.
