Sharon Dawn Harvey Cook Hunter
Sharon Dawn Harvey Cook Hunter decided her party should start at 10:31 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025.
As she entered her celebration the first person to welcome her was the love of her life Joseph LeRoy Cook. Joe led Sharon to the dance floor where the always stylish and light on their feet couple cut a rug.
Suddenly the 1950’s style music changed to the robust sounds of a drum line. Joe and Sharon turned around to see their youngest son Jeffrey Mark Cook laughing, spinning his drumsticks, and shouting, “Dude!”
The last sounds of the drum line were still lingering as the gentle notes of a lullaby filled the air. Sharon wept tears of joy as “Baby Boy Cook” was placed in her arms. She swayed to the music cradling the infant son she longed to hold for nearly six decades.
Sharon smiled when she heard her grandfather George Henry Williamson say, “He’s beautiful.” She felt the hand of her grandmother Judith Eleonor Larson Williamson on her shoulder. Sharon turned so her grandmother could hold the baby and to her great delight she saw her two very special aunts Eloise Beth Williamson Miller Grassle and Verna Mae Williamson Jost! Sharon’s aunts embrace her, giving her all their love and affection.
Elaine June Williamson Harvey Feese presented Sharon with a bouquet of daisies, knowing it was her daughter’s favorite flower. That’s when Sharon noticed her two aunts, mother, and grandmother were all wearing yellow, her favorite color.
Joe stepped in to whisk “Harvey” away for another dance only to feel a tap on his shoulder. His father Joseph Goulart Cook was cutting in. Before her father-in-law could speak Grace LeRoy Cook, her mother-in-law, took Sharon by the arm so they could walk and talk.
While they strolled arm in arm, Sharon felt a small hand grasp her loose hand. Joining their walk was her niece Diane L. Ramsey. The trio turned into a quartet as Sharon’s sister-in-law, Irene Joan Cook Sullivan Malouff, joined the promenade.
In a flash and a sudden blare of country western music the promenade became a line dance with Sharon’s daughter-in-law, Chris’s wife, Peggy Gail Osland Cook leading the way.
Although most joined the line dance Sharon noticed her son-in-law’s parents, Paul Stephen Hagan and Martha Ann Fink Hagan, watching the activities. Sharon laughed to herself knowing Martha was waiting for the 500 Tournament to begin with the intent the two of them would make it to the championship round.
Sharon also noticed her daughter-in-law’s parents, Leo Carl Ripka and Colleen Kay Moore Ripka watching the line dance. Sharon waved to Colleen and held up one finger letting Colleen know in a minute the two of them would be chatting about their favorite topic – cats.
The music transitioned back to the 1950’s and people gravitated to their social circles.
Sharon looked out into the sea of people who were at her party; family, friends, and loved ones. She had invited them all, and they all attended.
