Rosemary Jonson, 90

Rosemary Johnson, age 90, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie. Rosemary Margaret O’Connor was born on April 1, 1935, in Rochester, Minnesota, to Edward and Rose (Kruger) O’Connor. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1953. Following graduation, Rosemary attended Mankato State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She taught for five years and then became a homecare aide for many years. On March 2, 1957, Rosemary was united in marriage to Dean R. Johnson at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie. The couple was blessed with two sons, Dean and Mike. The family lived in rural Blooming Prairie for many years until they moved to Austin in 1992. Rosemary enjoyed gardening, traveling, and action movies. She was always up for an adventure and liked trying new things – four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and playing bean bags. Rosemary was a lifelong member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church. She will be loved and missed forever.

Rosemary is survived by her sons, Dean (Lesley) Johnson and Mike (Rita) Johnson, both of Blooming Prairie; four granddaughters, Morgan (fiancé Zach Slowinski), Hope (Devin Gwilt), Jenna, and Rose; step-grandchildren, Kyle Kump and Daniel (Jennifer) Kump; eight great-step-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Splittstoesser of Urbana, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Rose; husband, Dean; and infant sister, Constance.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Rosemary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with Father William Becker officiating. The visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, with a rosary service beginning at 6:45 p.m. at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie and will continue for one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will be in St. Columbanus Cemetery, Blooming Prairie. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and payable to St. Vincent de Paul, care of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 512 S.
