Myrna Melvina (Walker) Bowie, a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, one day short of her 92nd birthday, at her home in Dexter.
Born in St. Helena, CA on June 15, 1933 to Louis and Mary Walker, Myrna will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, hospitality and especially her tenacity.
She dedicated her life to her family, her church and her work.
Myrna is survived by her daughter, Dusty De Hererra, stepchildren Roger Bowie, Inez Bock and Marvalee Shaffer. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held on June 28 at 5:00 p.m. at the Rochester Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1100 37th St. NW, Rochester, MN.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Seventh-day Adventist Church or the Mayo Clinic in honor of the loving care she received there during the past 18 months.
