We’ve seen how important one vote can be.  One vote can decide what our government spends money on, who gets tax breaks, and what rights we have.  Your vote is important, too. Austin votes at a rate lower than the rest of Minnesota; it’s time to change that. Now is the time to check that you are registered and encourage others to do the same.  Go to the Secretary of State’s webpage at https://mnvotes.sos.mn.gov/voterstatuscheck/index to make sure you are registered.  Check again two months before each election.  There are executive orders and bills in congress that could make it harder for you to register and to vote, so it’s important that you check early and often.  There will be voter registration events at various locations over the next several months to help you if you need it – the next one is at Hot Off the Press Comics and Coffee at 5 p.m. on June 19. Let’s push Austin to the leadership spot for voting participation!
